Final Championship team of the week dominated by West Brom, Plymouth Argyle and Rotherham

How the final Championship team of the week shapes up for the 2023/24 season.

The regular Sky Bet Championship season has concluded following the final day of action and with it, we have the final team of the week of the campaign.

Birmingham City have been relegated to League One, rounding off a severely disappointing and disrupted nine months under six different managers. Gary Rowett’s men beat Norwich City 1-0 but it wasn’t enough as Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers and Plymouth Argyle all won, beating Sunderland, Leicester City and Hull City respectively.

At the other end of the table, Ipswich Town made it two promotions in two, sensationally rising to the Premier League at the first time of asking following a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town. The Terriers saw their drop to the third tier confirmed with that result but it was to be expected.

West Bromwich Albion enjoyed contrasting fortunes to their local foes, securing a spot in the top six with a dominant 3-0 victory over Preston North End. The Baggies stuttered in the three weeks previous but the job was done at the weekend, booking a play-off semi-final against Southampton.

Other results included Stoke City 4-0 Bristol City, Swansea City 0-1 Millwall, Coventry City 1-2 Queens Park Rangers, Middlesbrough 3-1 Watford, Leeds United 1-2 Southampton and Rotherham United 5-2 Cardiff City.

With so many players impressing across 12 fixtures, it’s hard to pick just 11 to form a team of the week but WhoScored’s rating system does the hard yards for us. Without further ado, here’s how the final XI of the campaign shapes up.
