The Championship's worst XI of the season as Birmingham City, West Brom and QPR stars feature

The Championship's worst XI of the 2023/24 season so far has been revealed - and it's one certainly up for debate.

Every week, fans, supporters, players and managers are on the look out to see who has made the Championship team of the week.

You don't get any physical prizes for it, but it's nice that players can be recognised for their contribution over the course of the weekend or in some cases two games. It helps recognise individual efforts, and whilst it's a topic that is always up for debate as everyone will fight in their corner for an inclusion, there are some ways to decide on it.

WhoScored is used to usually decide the best players of the week, month or season. It has information and statisics provided to it then can work out things like key passes, tackles, aerial duels and other things. It can sometime be skewed as one player may not have the best statistics in the game, but could have played a key role in their sides victory.

Championship podcast The Second Tier has flipped things on its head though and used those figures to make a worst Championship XI based on the player ratings of individual players so far. Usually people tune in to see who has made the cut in the best team, but no one wants to be included in the worst XI.

Surprisingly, there's a few players who play for teams in the top-half in the Championship that are included, including one playing for Southampton, who are currently on a 21-game unbeaten run.

Nevertheless, here in a 4-3-3 formation is the worst performing players of the season so far according to WhoScored. Players must have played over a 1,000 minutes to be included. It features players from Birmingham City, West Brom, QPR as well as seven other clubs.
