Birmingham City's stunning £43m squad transfer value compared to Ipswich Town, Leeds United, Middlesbrough and rivals

A look at the latest squad transfer values for all 24 clubs in the Sky Bet Championship, with some shocks at both ends of the table.

Birmingham City began the 2023/24 season in impressive style under John Eustace but things took a heavy turn for the worse when Wayne Rooney was appointed. Blues dropped to merely a few points above the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone and Tony Mowbray is now picking up the pieces of what has become a more complicated puzzle than Tom Wagner, Tom Brady and Knighthead would have hoped.

Nonetheless, positive signs have emerged over recent weeks as Mowbray has got Birmingham playing much better football again. The goals haven't exactly been flowing but the chances have, and there's bound to be an upturn in results. The 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers could be a turning point as Blues look to soar away from the relegation battle and into the top-half reckoning.

Throughout what has been a mixed bag of a season, the transfer value of Birmingham's squad has fluctuated with some severe peaks and troughs. That said, the winter window, albeit a fairly quiet one with just Andre Dozzell, Alex Pritchard and Seung-ho Paik as the three additions, has increased the worth of the current roster significantly.

Blues were rather far down on the list of Championship transfer values but there has been a lift. So how, then, does Birmingham's total squad worth compare to the rest of the English second tier? Courtesy of the latest data from Transfermarkt, here's a full run-through from 24th to 1st.
