Championship ‘dirtiest’ teams table exposes Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston, Ipswich Town & QPR

Stunning table compares all 24 Championship teams for cards received throughout the 2023/24 season.

The Championship is one of the most competitive footballing divisions on the planet, let alone just in England. Although there's a very noticeable drop-off in quality from the Premier League, the English second tier is nearly just as exciting due to its sheer unpredictability.

One week title challengers will be beaten by bottom three battlers, while another will see them thrash a similar opposition. There are several factors as to why the Championship is so competitive, including the financial benefits of promotion and surviving relegation, but a key element is the raw desire of players.

This determination can often lead to feisty encounters up and down the division, with referees given the tough task of having to keep proceedings under control. Awarding fouls alone sometimes doesn't cut it, meaning cards must be brandished instead, to stop players going overboard.

Some teams are worse culprits for cards than others, with a few seeing at least two or three names in the book every game but others minimising confrontations with officials.

In total, there have been 1,356 cards handed out throughout 2023/24 so far. Here's how every team compares for discipline, with one point per yellow, three points per second yellow and five points per red.
