34 Championship players at risk of suspension - including key Birmingham City, West Brom, Leeds United & Sheffield Wednesday stars: gallery

Several players in the Championship are in danger of being suspended - including Birmingham City, West Brom and Leicester City stars.

Nearly a third of the Championship season has been completed and things are beginning to take shape.

Leicester City are top-of-the-table with a healthy lead and below them are Ipswich Town, who failed to make the most of their defeat to Leeds United on Friday night with a 2-2 draw against Birmingham City.

The 46-game season is very long, and injuries and suspensions happen, and we've already seen Lee Buchanan booked for two yellow cards against Watford. A busy period awaits after the international break but some players are at risk of missing a match through suspension as they walk on a tight rope of a potential ban.

The EFL rules are that a player receives a one-game suspension if they accumalate five yellow cards up until the 19th game of the season.

Those fixtures are from December 1 to December 3 and so both Blues and Baggies players will need to avoid bookings up until the Rotherham United and Leicester City fixtures respectively. If the players do avoid such bookings, then they will need to avoid the next lot which is a two-game suspension if 10 are accumalated before 37 games, and three games if you get 15 bookings before the end of the campaign.

The festive block of fixtures comes after the latest round of international fixtures, and so who else in the division is on the cusp of missing a potential big game for their club in the coming weeks?

Based on what TransferMarkt is telling us, here’s the players all in danger of serving a ban should they be carded at the weekend or in their next games.
