Birmingham City's average away Championship attendances compared to Swansea City, Norwich, Hull, Watford and Blackburn Rovers

Birmingham City's away support in the 2023/24 Championship is impressive given their struggles this season.

Birmingham City are on their travels this evening as they travel to South Yorkshire to face Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in the Sky Bet Championship.

Blues had been given an allocation of over 2,000 tickets for the fixture and tickets went off sale on Friday morning. No supporter will be able to walk up and buy a ticket at the ticket office after a decision was taken by the Owls.

In Birmingham's last away match they took 2,009 fans to West Brom and had to witness a match-winning strike from former Aston Villa forward Andi Weimann who revelled in the moment. Away form hasn't been the greatest this season and they've won just three times on their travels with their last coming against Stoke City. Despite their poor record on the pitch, you're likely to see more than a 1,000 passionate Blues fans in the away end for every match.

St Andrew's is limited when it comes to capacity and so Birmingham will never be up there when it comes to home attendances, but when it comes to away support, they're one of the top ranking in the division. Birmingham are well placed when it comes to away matches as there's a local derby against West Brom. Trips to Middlesbrough and Sunderland are their longest journey's but there's still a good few fans who make the journey up to North England.

Thanks to The 72 who collate away followings every weekend and have got data up until December 29, we've managed to add January and February's followings and provide an up to date table. Here's how Birmingham City rank against the likes of Swansea City, Norwich, Hull, Watford and Blackburn Rovers, as well as the other teams in the Championship.
