West Brom's stunning average home attendance compared to Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday & Championship rivals

West Bromwich Albion have maintained an impressive average home attendance this season.

The Baggies are top of the Championship standings from their on-field results, and they aren’t far from the summit on the attendance table front either.

The Hawthorns wasn’t quite packed out to the rim but a respectable 24,736 watched on nonetheless as West Brom beat Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle by one goal to nil on Saturday afternoon.

That result maintained the near perfect start to the season, with Carlos Corberan’s side first in the league with five wins and one draw in six matches. The only dropping of points so far was against fellow promotion hopefuls Leeds United, in a 0-0 draw on home soil.

It’s been Albion’s best start to a league season since the 1992/93 campaign and the tremendous supporters can take a lot of credit for their involvement in that.

How, then, does West Brom’s average turnout compare to the rest of the Championship? Here’s a full run-through.
