Brilliant pictures of Solihull Moors fans at National League playoff final against Grimsby

Thousands of fans travelled down to London to cheer Moors on during today’s playoff final

Solihull Moors missed out on promotion to the Football League after a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Grimby Town in Sunday’s National League playoff final (5 June).

Jordan Maguire-Drew’s extra-time winner was enough to earn Grimsby the glory as Paul Hurst’s side came from a goal down to win promotion to League 2.

Moors took the lead right on the edge of half-time thanks to a towering header from Kyle Hudlin, but Grimsby equalised with just 20 minutes remaining thanks to John McAtee’s well taken second-half strike.

During the second period of extra time, Moors and their travelling fans suffered playoff final heartbreak after Maguire-Drew got on the end of a long throw into Solihull’s penalty area to tap in at the back post as Town won promotion to the Football League.

Despite a heartbreaking ending, it’s been a brilliant season for Neal Ardley’s side, and Moors’ fans travelled in their thousands to cheer their side on in east London today.

Here are some brilliant photos of Solihull’s fans at West Ham’s London Stadium.
