Wholesale changes and a formation switch: Birmingham City predicted XI vs Middlesbrough

Selection dilemmas have been few and far between for Lee Bowyer this season but Tuesday certainly poses some

Birmingham City manager Lee Bowyer has one of the strongest Blues squads of the season at his disposal ahead of Tuesday evening’s Championship match against Middlesbrough.

There have been a number of occasions to date where Bowyer has struggled to even fill a bench at St Andrew’s and whilst there are still a handful of concerns, the light is much brighter at the end of what appeared to be a never-ending tunnel.

Defensively they still look a little short with George Friend and Maxime Colin unavailable but up the other end of the field Bowyer is looking spoiled for choice.

Whilst it is of course much better to have the options, it does pose some problems in itself including how to get certain players into the squad and what formation best suits.

Taking that into account, we could very well see a switch away from the 5-3-2 on Tuesday in order to get some more of the attacking flare involved.
