Birmingham City have reportedly registered an interest in Manchester United central defender Will Fish but face competition from Scottish Premiership outfit Hibernian.

Blues are said to want a continue a recent transfer trend after signing both Ethan Laird and Tahith Chong on permanent deals from the Red Devils in the last 12 months.

Tunisian midfielder Hannibal Mejbri was another who made the move from Manchester to B9, though that was only a loan deal and he won’t be returning.

UnitedMuppetiers claims Birmingham are interested in raiding Old Trafford again by taking Fish on loan, adding depth in the centre back position.

John Eustace’s side will have to fight off Hibernian if they want to get their man, however, as the Edinburgh-based club also want to sign Fish, according to Daily Record.

The defender, who is a former England U19 international, has already built up a strong rapport with Hibs having moved to Easter Road on loan last season.

Fish made 21 appearances in the Scottish Premiership throughout 2022/23, scoring three goals. He only stands at 6ft 0in but proved to be a fierce competitor in aerial duels.
