Here's all Birmingham City fans need to know about Tom Brady, what he's doing in the Midlands, his personal life and, importantly, his net worth.

Why has Tom Brady invested in Birmingham City?

According to the American football legend, his interest in Birmingham City comes from the 'iconic' club's 'history and passion'. Brady hopes to inspire an era of success at St Andrew's in his new role.

The sportsman has entered a partnership with Knighthead Capital Management LLC to become a minority owner of the Championship club. He will become Chairman of a new Advisory Board and work directly with the club's Board and members of the Birmingham City leadership team.

Birmingham City have highlighted how they hope to use Brady's 'extensive leadership experience and expertise' across the club, especially with the sports science department to advise on health, nutrition and wellness. He will also advise on global marketing opportunities.

Brady said: “Birmingham City is an iconic club with so much history and passion and to be part of the Blues is a real honour for me. BCFC is built on teamwork and determination and I’m excited to work alongside the board, management and players to make our Second City club second to none. I’ve been part of some amazing teams in my day, and I’m looking forward to applying my perspective to create that same success here in Birmingham.”

Where is Tom Brady from, and what is up with his complicated love life?

Despite his apparent love for Birmingham City, Tom Brady is not from the UK and doesn't have any clear links to the Midlands.

The star was born in San Mateo, California and his father does have connections to Europe. Thomas Brady Sr is of Irish descent, while his mother has Swedish, Norwegian, German, and Polish ancestry. The American footballer eventually went to the University of Michigan for a dazzling college career that eventually led to his famous 19-year spell at New England Patriots.

Brady has had a complicated love life in the public eye. Between 2004 and 2006 he dated actress Bridget Moynhan, but the two ended their relationship around the time that Moynhan became pregnant with their child.

Reportedly, just weeks after breaking up Brady began dating Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen after going on a blind date set up by pals. The couple married in 2009 at an intimate Catholic ceremony and had two children before divorcing in October 2022.

Bundchen is a prolific model who has appeared on more than 1,200 magazine covers. Towards the end of their marriage, Brady and Bündchen became embroiled in a complicated cryptocurrency court case after a company they represented filed for bankruptcy and both have done remarkable work as Goodwill ambassadors over the years.

Brady is now reported to be dating model Irina Shayk, who has dated Cristiano Ronaldo and Bradley Cooper in the past.

What is Tom Brady's net worth?

Tom Brady is certainly a wealthy man thanks to his illustrious sports career and huge brand deals.
