Birmingham haven't played at this stage of the competition for 30-years, having mainly been a club in the top two tiers of English football. With Birmingham top of League One, they are the biggest scalp a club could make. Here to help prepare you for the match is key information such as if you can still buy tickets, or if you can watch it on television.

When is Sutton United v Birmingham City?

Sutton United against Birmingham City will take place on Sunday, November 3. Kick-off is at 12.30 pm.

Can I get tickets?

Not if you’re an away supporter. Tickets sold out, and there won’t be any further tickets available for those wanting to be in the Birmingham City end. A total of 1,562 fans will be in attendance for what is a new ground.

Will it be on TV and can I stream it?

Yes. This is one of the rare times in which supporters will be able to watch Birmingham City live on terrestrial television. The match is going to be on ITV1, and so quite simply go on to the third channel of your freeview box, or channel 103 if you have a Sky box.

Who is the referee?

Ben Atkinson is the referee, and he will be assisted by David Harrison and Conall Bartlett with Alan Dale the fourth official.

Atkinson is a referee that has overseen some games in League One, League Two, as well as the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. He's overseen seven games this season, and has brandished 29 yellow cards, and awarded three penalties. Sutton United fans might remember him as he was the referee for their 5-3 defeat to Swindon Town in September 2023.

No. A change to the rules means that the tie will be decided on the day. Should the score be level, then it will go to extra time and maybe even penalties.
