Birmingham are now a point ahead of Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday. Three games remain for Gary Rowett’s men including a big game against the Terriers next week.

Up first for Birmingham is a trip to South Yorkshire to face the already relegated Millers. Their fate was sealed 12 days ago and they’ve won just four games this term.

At this stage of the season, having as many bodies as you can is key but in some cases, even the smallest injury can sometimes end a season. Here’s the latest injury and team news ahead of Saturday’s clash.

Oliver Burke, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Alfie Chang have all had their respective injuries.

Chang was never going to be available after suffering a serious knee injury in August. He signed a new contract until 2026 as a means of motivation to get himself fit.

Burke, Jutkiewicz and Roberts meanwhile have all been available at some stages of the competition. Roberts, Burke and Jutkiewicz have missed the last five games.

Jutkiewicz has been involved in Birmingham’s near misses with relegation before. He has been part of the travelling contingent for games against QPR and Leicester City. A return shouldn’t be too far away.

Roberts is nursing a calf injury. He sustained the issue against Middlesbrough and it is a third of its kind this season.

Burke and Rowett worked together at Millwall but the pair might not get to work at Birmingham. The Scotland international has a muscle problem and there’s a real possibility he won’t play again this term.

Rotherham United team news

Daniel Ayala has been absent for Rotherham United since mid-December. He joined on a free transfer in October but has struggled to recover after damaging his Achilles tendon.

Christ Tiehi is unable to play for Rotherham at this time with an injury picked up just before the international break. Tiehi has a pelvic problem and that has put him out for the last six games.

Jordan Hugill has a knee issue that has put him out for the same time period as Tiehi. He has gone to see a specialist to decide the best course of action for his recovery.

Andre Green has been out of action for the Yorkshire outfit since October. He revealed that he's been struggling to walk but is hopeful he'll be ready in time for the 2024/25 season.

Sam Clucas was forced off with an injury and that makes him a doubt for this weekend. The 33-year-old has three goal contributions this term.

Jamie Lindsay was absent against West Brom and missed the game against Swansea City. The reason for his absence was undisclosed but Leam Richardson did say he was with the medical team.
