Pundit makes ‘different level’ claim that Birmingham City fans have known for years

Scottish legend Ally McCoist has issued a verdict that Birmingham City fans will be no stranger to.

Former Blues star Jude Bellingham has been on fire of late, taking the step up to Real Madrid in his stride, already establishing himself as the club’s top-scorer so far this season, and he continued his excellent form with England on Tuesday night, scoring to help the Three Lions defeat UK rivals Scotland in a friendly.

Bellingham has received praise aplenty for his performance, and Scotland legend McCoist is one of the pundits to have spoken about the display.

Though, Blues fans already knew what McCoist said was true years ago. Speaking on TalkSPORT, he said: “A different level of youngster that I have seen, perhaps in my lifetime. He is unbelivable. I need to tell you, I thought Phil Foden was amazing as well.

“I tell you the difference. The one thing I would say is, we had a conversation where we both looked at the price, and we were very well aware of the task ahead for the Scotland side. We knew Scotland had improved, but we knew that the opposition was a different animal from what we have been playing, and I would probably include Spain.

“It turned out to be what we feared. For Scotland to get a result, two things had to happen. England had to be below par and eight or nine Scotland players had to be above par, and sadly, the opposite happened in the first half.”
