Birmingham City striker Sam Cosgrove has joined Plymouth Argyle on a season long-loan deal.

The 25-year-old joins Steven Schumache’s League One outfit until the end of the season after an agreement for his services was reached.

He signed for Blues in January 2021 from Aberdeen and has featured in 15 matches to date. The frontman spent the first part of the 2021/22 campaign with Shrewsbury Town under former Birmingham City boss, Steve Cotterill. His stint at Montgomery Waters Meadow concluded at the turn of the year having appeared 22 times for the Shrews in all competitions.

Cosgrove went in search of further opportunities in January 2022 and featured 15 times for Shrewsbury’s then third-tier counterparts AFC Wimbledon.
