AI predicts final League One table with Birmingham City, Wrexham, Charlton and Stockport shocks

Birmingham City are expected by many League One experts to win the league - but does artificial intelligence agree?

Birmingham City are one of the favourites for the 2024/25 League One title and with good reason.

Blues have been busy in the transfer market this summer and by the admission of their head coach Chris Davies, they are by no means finished. Birmingham have explored foreign markets whilst also signing the best of British, with signings arriving from their league rivals and Scotland.

All seven of their signings have had transfer fees paid for with Willum Willumsson and Christoph Klarer the latest arrivals. Go Ahead Eagles said that the fee for Willumsson was record transfer fee received, and that's at around €4m. The fee for Klarer wasn't disclosed, but you can bet that Birmingham paid good money for a player that has just come off a season in the Bundesliga.

Birmingham's spending means they are putting a target on their back with clubs viewing them as a big scalp. Teams might be up more for games when they're up against Birmingham, who are arguably the biggest team in the division.

They can consider Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United as their rivals given they came down with them from the Championship. Bolton Wanderers, Barnsley and Peterborough United meanwhile competed in the play-offs last term, and then you’ve got teams like Blackpool and Charlton Athletic who like Birmingham, once dined at the top table of English football.

Only three promotion spots are available, and Birmingham in the eyes of many have to win automatic promotion. Can they do it? Safe Betting Sites have used AI (artificial intelligence), combining the likes of ChatGPT, Gemini and Bing AI, to formulate a predicted League One table for the 2024/25 season. Take this with a pinch of salt, but here is how the table is expected to look when the campaign comes to an end.
