Birmingham City defender Kristian Pedersen is reportedly set to leave the club this summer.

Acoording to Football Insider, Pedersen has turned down the offer of a new deal at St Andrew’s and looks set to leave the club on a free transfer.

The report states that the 27-year-old left-back has rejected the offer of a contract extension as he ‘seeks a fresh challenge elsewhere’.

Bowyer’s future at club

Bowyer’s own future at the club has been uncertain since the season Championship season came to an end with talks of a takeover still rumbling on.

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United owner David Sullivan is reportedly funding a proposed £35million takeover of Birmingham.

The report states that Sullivan’s investment company, Rickleford Limited, have agreed to loan Bassini £33m to buy Blues from the current Hong Kong-based owners Birmingham Sports Holdings Ltd and it’s unclear what the takeover would mean for Bowyer’s future.

Bowyerwas set for talks about his and the club’s future after their 2-1 home defeat to Blackburn on the last day of the season last Saturday (7 May).

Following the game, Bowyer said: “I’m meeting on Monday and I’m sure we will talk about how we can improve going forward,” said Bowyer.

“I would like to hear they understand the situation I’ve had to face this season; we all have to be realistic.

“I want clarity in terms of what the plan is and how we can improve because I want to be the person challenging up the other end and winning things.

“But I know one thing, it is going to take time because there are contracts people are on and they’ve got years to run.”
