Former Birmingham City manager Lee Bowyer is among the favourites to replace Steve Morrison as manager of Cardiff City.
The ex-Wales international was sacked as Bluebirds’ boss following their 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town on September 16.
Mark Hudson has been in temporary charge of Cardiff since Morrison’s dismissal, and could take charge of the team when they welcome Burnley to the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
The Bluebirds are yet to appoint a new manager since Morrison’s departure, but will want to have a permanent boss in charge as soon as possible with the club sat 18th in the Championship.
With Cardiff yet to confirm a new man at the helm, it’s no surprise a number of candidates have been linked with the job.
Who is favourite for the job?
As per SkyBet, current caretaker boss Hudson is the favourite to be the next Bluebirds’ manager, and is priced at 4/6.
Former Bluebirds defender Sol Bamba can be backed at 3/1, while Nathan Jones is 10/1.
Next is Craig Bellamy (12/1) and then Carlos Corberan at a price of 14/1.
Other names being mentioned include Scott Parker, Jody Morris, Lee Bowyer, Michael Flynn, Sean Dyche and Veljko Paunovic.
Bowyer’s track record in the Championship
The ex-England international has been out of work since July after being sacked by Birmingham following their 20th place finish in the Championship last season.
Blues finished 10 points above relegated Peterborough United last campaign, which saw Bowyer’s side struggle in their last 10 league games, winning just twice.
In 59 games in charge of Birmingham, the Englishman won 17 fixtures in all competitions, drawing 16 and losing 26.
