Birmingham City are in the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in 30-years.

Birmingham City's FA Cup first round tie against Sutton United has been chosen for broadcast.

On Monday, the first round draw for the FA Cup took place, and Blues were paired with the National League outfit. Sutton are in the fifth tier after suffering relegation from League Two last season, and are currently ninth.

Sutton are managed by former Millwall and Norwich City striker Steve Morison. The 41-year-old was manager of Cardiff City until he was relieved of his duties in the 2022/23 season.

ITV have confirmed that they will be broadcasting the tie between Birmingham City and the Us. The match will take place on Sunday, November 3, with a kick-off time of 12.30 pm, and will be on their main channel ITV1.

Birmingham’s League One promotion rivals Wrexham will shortly follow Birmingham when they travel to Wetherby Road to face Harrogate Town, with that being shown on ITVX.

The final offering of the weekend from ITV is when Birmingham’s next opponents Lincoln City travel to non-league Chesham United on Monday, November 4 which will be on ITV4.

BBC, ITV, and TNT Sport are all showing the competition this season. The first round proper action gets underway on Friday, November 1 when Tamworth host Huddersfield Town at 7.45 pm in front of the television cameras, which will be shown on BBC Two.

BBC Two will also be showing Northampton Town v Kettering Town, and that will take place on Saturday, November 2, with a 5.30 pm kick-off. All the clubs that have been chosen for selection will receive a live broadcast fee in addition to money's received from their involvement in the competition.

The competition has undergone a change this season, with matches from the first round will only be played on weekends with replays scrapped from the first round onwards. It means there will be a winner on the day when Birmingham face Sutton.

Clubs that win their first round ties get £45,000. In October 2021, clubs chosen for broadcast picked up a live broadcast fee of £50,000.

Harrogate Town v Wrexham - Sunday, November 3, 3.30 pm.

Chesham United v Lincoln City - Monday, November 4 - 7.15 pm.
