The Championship season came to a dramatic close well over a month ago and players have since settled down for their summer holidays. It remains a long while until the next campaign starts, but that hasn’t stopped early predictions being made.
Reading, Blackpool and Wigan Athletic will no longer take part as they were relegated to League One, but Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday have been promoted to replace them.
Meanwhile, Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton Town were promoted to the Premier League, meaning they won’t be part of the 2023/24 Championship season. Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton were relegated, however, meaning they will partake.
West Midlands sides West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City will be hopeful they can push on after reasonable successes last term. The Baggies recovered brilliantly under Carlos Corberan, while Blues reached their best points total in seven years.
It could be difficult to improve, though, as the overall quality of the Championship next season is looking likely to be one of the highest seen in recent history. In order to get an idea of how things might look, we’ve taken a dive into the latest odds from Sky Bet and put together a table.
