Birmingham City are looking to get involved in the transfer market right away as they have potential new candidates on their radar, but they are also looking to do business in selling some of their own players.

However, the latest updates on the Blues’ transfer situation has hinted they aren’t enjoying a smooth lead up into the window. Here are the latest transfer updates for Monday, June 5th.

No official bid yet sent for Birmingham target

Despite the Blues being keen on bringing Wolves prospect Dion Sanderson to St Andrew’s on a permanent deal, they are yet to table an offer for him. According to Liam Keen of the Express and Star, Sanderson has received no official bids, even though both Birmingham and Stoke City are monitoring his situation.

The defender joined the Blues on loan last season and made 34 appearances, starting all of them. Despite the absence of offers right now, Keen reports that other Championship sides are interested in Sanderson this summer.

Jobe Bellingham offer not enough

Sunderland have been told they must increase their offer for Jobe Bellingham if they want to sign him from Birmingham. Despite being valued in the region of £3 million, the Black Cats have offered just £1 million and have been informed that it simply isn’t enough money, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues are playing a potentially dangerous game though, as the longer they hold onto Bellingham, the closer he is to the end of his contract. His current deal expires next June and Birmingham run the risk of losing him for free if they don’t sell up this window.

Bellingham has also been called up to represent England U18s later this month. The 17-year-old will continue his international experience with the Young Lions at the upcoming tournament hosted by Portugal. Bellingham and England will take on Norway, Australia and finally the hosts in the competition, starting June 9th.
