Birmingham City have had a reasonable start to the 2022-23 season, winning three of their opening 10 league games.

The Blues sit 17th in the Champ[ionship table, two points above the relegation zone ahead of their trip to league leaders Sheffield United on Saturday.

John Eustace’s side have netted just eight times in the league this campaign - the third-lowest in the division.

The 42-year-old has made several changes to his squad this summer, including the permanent signing of Tahith Chong who spent last season on loan at St Andrew’s.

Birmingham drew 0-0 with Coventry City last time out and will be hoping to cause an upset against Sheffield United when the Championship returns this weekend.

With that being said, let’s take a look at the 10 best performing Blues players in the league, according to SofaScore.

10 - Scott Hogan - 6.91

The biggest surprise on the list in terms of form, Scott Hogan is Birmingham’s top scorer in the league, netting five times. He has also registered one assist and is averaging 1.4 shots per game.

9 - Krystian Bielik - 6.93

The Derby County loanee has been restricted to just three league appearances so far due to injury, but no fit, is expected to feature more under Eustace.

8 - Maxime Colin - 6.97

The Frenchman has featured in nine of Blues 10 league games so far, scoring once. He is averaging 2.1 tackles per game and 2.6 clearances per game.

7 - Tahith Chong - 7.00

The winger has made three appearances in the Championship since his return to St Andrew’s, creating one big chance, while averaging 1.7 shots per game.

6 - Jordan Graham - 7.00

The 27-year-old has one assist in six games for Blues so far, while making 1.5 key passes.

5 - Dion Sanderson - 7.02

The Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee has helped Birmingham keep three clean sheets in 10 games and has made on average three clearances per game.

4 - Marc Roberts - 7.07

The 32-year-old has featured seven times this season keeping two clean sheets and making on average 7.9 clearances per game.

3 - Przemysław Płacheta - 7.08

The winger hasn’t featured for Blues since their 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic in August. Despite this, he provided one assist in his five appearances before this and completed 81& of successful dribbles.

2 - John Ruddy - 7.09

The experienced shot-stopper has started every league game so far, keeping three clean sheets. He’s saved one of two penalties faced and made 28 saves in total.

1 - Auston Trusty - 7.16

The Arsenal loanee tops the list after featuring in all 10 of Birmingham’s league games so far. He has helped keep three clean sheets, while making on average 2.4 tackles per game and three clearances per game.
