Birmingham City play host to Millwall in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday evening. Blues will be hoping to build further momentum after a surprise 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers five days ago.

QPR were starting to look like a real promotion threat after flying up the table, but Blues put a halt to their hopes in a clinical display on Friday evening. An audacious backward flicked effort from Auston Trusty and a curled effort outside of the box from Emmanuel Longelo claimed all three points.

John Eustace has got his side playing with great confidence, with three wins and a draw in their last five Championship matches. They are now in the top half of the league standings and could even soar into the top 10 with a victory over Millwall.

The Lions have themselves been in good form, though, as they enjoyed an impressive four-game winning streak before a surprise 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town at the weekend. Blues will be hopeful this shock result will have knocked Millwall’s confidence a little, but the fixture still won’t be easy.

Here is all the latest team news ahead of the highly-anticipated clash, including a positive update from Eustace and a selection blow for the visitors.

Eustace confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Gary Gardner and Przemyslaw Placheta remain out of action, but Marc Roberts has returned to training ahead of schedule and could be available as a wait-and-see. Nico Gordon and George Friend are continuing their programmes alongside the first team and the game comes too soon for them.
