Birmingham City host Coventry City at the St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams lost in midweek in what was a blow to their respective goals. Blues having been in the play-offs in October are now fighting relegation and the 1-0 defeat to Cardiff has put them second from bottom in the table. Coventry City who are in the play-off mix lost 2-1 to Southampton and are five points off of Norwich City but do have a game in hand.

Birmingham are winless against Coventry in their last eight league matches and haven't won against the Sky Blues since August 2011. They haven't scored in their last three league games against Coventry either. If Mark Robins' side do win then they'll complete a league double over Birmingham for the first time since the 2008/09 season.

Gary Rowett has a good record against Coventry however having won two of his last three games against them while in charge of Millwall. Coventry's 66 goals this season is their most in the Championship for 20 years and they've only failed to score once in their last 25 matches.

Both teams played on in midweek and so it will be a case of only a few days training for the players. Here's the latest injury and team news ahead of kick-off.

Birmingham City team news

Birmingham City will still be without their injured trio against the Sky Blues. Lukas Jutkiewicz, Marc Roberts and Oliver Burke all missed out on the midweek defeat to Cardiff City. Stand in boss Rowett hasn't been able to call upon any of them since he took over from Mark Venus because of their respective injuries.

Jutkiewicz sustained a knee injury against Watford just before the international break. He has travelled with the squad in their recent away matches but isn't expected to be ready for this weekend.

Oliver Burke is dealing with a muscular injury which was revealed by his parent club Werder Bremen. Burke has yet to register a goal contribution this season despite having made 22 appearances.

As for Marc Roberts, he has a calf problem. A calf issue has caused him to missed periods of the campaign, and this one has put him out for the last four matches.

Alfie Chang is a long term absentee and will play no part. He suffered a knee injury back in August and is continuing with his recovery as he works towards a return, likely to come in pre-season.

In addition to the four players confirmed to be injured, Lee Buchanan gave Birmingham an injury concern on Wednesday. He was taken off with 20 minutes to play and replaced by Cody Drameh. Buchanan wanted to continue but given their lack of options in that position the decision was made to bring him off where hopefully he'll be available.

Out: Alfie Chang, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Marc Roberts and Oliver Burke. Doubt: Lee Buchanan.

Coventry City team news

Milan van Ewijk was forced off after just five minutes in the second-half on Tuesday. He clashed with the Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu but couldn't continue however it is expected to be nothing serious and he should be in contention at the weekend.

Kasey Palmer was a substitute for Coventry and the reason that he didn't start is because he had a tight hamstring. Haji Wright meanwhile was dealing with a tight groin and so Coventry have been trying to prevent them from getting injured ahead of a potential play-off campaign.

Matty Godden was missing at St Mary's and he's been out for the last three games with a calf strain. Their manager added that he hoped he'd be available for the weekend.

Jamie Allen and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto are two long-term absentees with the latter not expected to play a game again this season. Allen suffered a broken cheekbone in their FA Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday in January whilst Sakamoto injured his back against Preston North End, putting him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Out: Jamie Allen and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto. Doubt: Matty Godden.
