Birmingham City have made some ambitious signings so far this summer. They have swooped for the likes of Demarai Gray, Tommy Doyle and James Beadle, among others. Chris Davies’ side stormed to the League One title last season.
As for West Brom, they are preparing for a new era under new boss Ryan Mason. He has been handed a three-year deal at The Hawthorns. The 34-year-old left his role as a coach at Tottenham Hotspur to join the Baggies.

Birmingham were relegated from the second tier 12 months ago after finishing in the bottom three along with Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United. They have since rebuilt their squad and smashed the record points tally last season. The Blues ended up going up along with Wrexham and Charlton Athletic.
They are carrying some serious momentum ahead of the next campaign. The Midlands outfit have got into a habit of winning games and that should take them a long way. They have also made some shrewd signings recently and have the money and power to bring in more over the next couple of months to further bolster their ranks.
West Brom are taking a gamble on Mason. He was picked as their replacement for Tony Mowbray and has taken his first managerial role in the game. The former Spurs and Hull City man lacks experience but will have learnt a lot from Ange Postecoglou at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Baggies missed out on the play-offs last term. They have delved into the market so far to bring in centre-back Nat Phillips from Liverpool after his recent loan spell at Derby County. They have also cut ties with the likes of Semi Ajayi, John Swift and Grady Diangana to free up space and funds.
