The Roost pub in Small Heath is accustomed to big names walking through its doors.

John Eustace, Ed Sheeran and Tom Brady have all popped into the Birmingham City fan pub on Cattell Road over the last couple of years.

The pub has become the primary venue for Blues fans since Rob Burns and his partner Hollie took over the running of the venue 12 months ago.

On Wednesday (October 25) night, former Premier League striker Dean Windass stopped off at The Roost prior to watching Hull City’s 2-0 victory over Blues at St Andrew’s.

Windass played for The Tigers in the Premier League back in 2009, scoring the winning goal which got them there in the Championship play-off final the year before.

Windass, who often does after speaking events, popped into the Blues fan pub with some friends and enjoyed a Guinness.

Rob said he took time to take photos and talk with Blues supporters at The Roost before watching his side’s midweek win over Wayne Rooney’s side.

Things didn’t get any better for Rooney on Saturday (October 29) either, as City lost 3-1 away to Southampton. The former England and Manchester United captain has now lost his first three games as Blues boss with the club dropping from sixth in the Championsip table to 14th.
