10-goal forward axed as ‘entertainer’ gains spot - Birmingham City predicted XI v Bristol City - gallery

Here’s what we predict Birmingham City’s starting lineup to look like for Saturday’s away Championship game at Bristol City.

Birmingham City head out on the road for the second time this Championship season as they take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday afternoon.

Following on from a narrow 1-0 win over Leeds United and a 1-1 draw at Swansea City, John Eustace’s side are full of confidence and will be eager to continue the momentum.

Many put Blues down as relegation candidates again but the nine signings and a renewed sense of hope have caused dreams of a top-half finish – or maybe even better.

It’s important for supporters not to get ahead of themselves, but there’s certainly a fresh buzz around St Andrew’s.

Heading out for an away game is a different proposition, however, and that’s even with the brilliant 2,000-strong away following expected in Bristol.

The Robins have started their campaign in exactly the fashion as Blues as they beat Millwall 1-0 last weekend and drew 1-1 with Preston North End before that.

Eustace will be very wary of what Nigel Pearson’s side are capable of, even without £25 million man Alex Scott, who recently departed for AFC Bournemouth.

With that in mind, we think Birmingham will field a very strong lineup. Flick through the pages to see all 11 players, as well as brief explanations for each inclusion.
