Birmingham City player ratings vs Rotherham United: ‘Shocking performance’ as no outfield player scores more than 5
and live on Freeview channel 276
Birmingham City put in a shocking performance to lose 2-0 at Rotherham United on Saturday afternoon.
Two goals from Richard Wood, one in either half, were enough to hand the home side all three points in a game Blues will want to quickly, quickly forget.

John Ruddy - 7*
Made a couple of good saves on the afternoon and stopped a penalty. Can’t really ask for much more from your keeper. MOTM - not that he had much competition.
Josh Williams - 5
Tried incredibly hard. Granted, the quality wasn’t there at times but his workrate was a cut above a lot of his teammates.
Marc Roberts - 3
Really bad afternoon compounded by bringing a Rotherham man down in the box.
Dion Sanderson - 5
Best of the back three.

Was lucky to not concede a penalty of his own in the first-half when he chopped down Ogbene. Got away with one.
Maxime Colin - 5
Replaced at half-time with an injury.
Juninho Bacuna - 5
Blues’ star-man a lot of the time but was pretty non-existent today.
Jordan James - 4
Bullied in the middle of the park all day.
George Hall - 5
Not a bad performance but not a great one either. Hard to expect much from someone with so few senior appearances on his belt.
Troy Deeney - 4
Could have had a goal had Hogan squared an opportunity at the beginning of the second-half but away fro that, never looked threatening.

Birmingham’s opportunities were extremely few and far between and he had the best by a country mile. Fired a one-on-one straight at the Rotherham keeper. Not good enough.
Subs
Jordan Graham - 5
Steady when he came on after the break going forward but struggled defensively.
Sam Cosgrove - 5
Actually thought he did OK when he came on. Better than his two strike partners that started.
Gary Gardner - 5
Didn’t do anything of note really but at least Blues seemed to gain a little bit of control in the middle following his introduction.
Ryan Stirk - 5
A lot to ask of a young player to change a game like this. Didn’t particularly notice him when brought on.
Jobe Bellingham - N/A
Brought on with less than 10 to go.
