Birmingham City fans react as Tom Brady visits St Andrew’s & The Roost pub

American football great Tom Brady made a legendary visit to Birmingham after becoming co-owner of the Blues.

The NFL star tweeted that he was on his way to St Andrews ahead of Birmingham City’s clash against Leeds at home yesterday (Saturday, August 12) saying: “Any plans before kick off guys? See you at St Andrew’s.” This led Birmingham’s official account to reply: “See you soon, Tom!” And he has been hailed a ‘lucky charm’ as his team clinched a 1-0 victory.

Ahead of the game Tom, aged 46, popped into Blues pub The Roost where he was serenaded by football fans who were delighted to see him. FA senior communications manager Andy Walker from Solihull said: “Tom Brady in The Roost. Surreal and hilarious in equal measure .”

Another Bluenose, Kane, summed up the astonishment of many fans saying: “Not everyday you meet Tom Brady deep in Small Heath. Up the Blues.”

Russ Gold said: “To those who think Tom Brady having a minority ownership of Birmingham City is simply a marketing ploy think again. Brady only does things 100 per cent and is obsessed with winning Birmingham City will be back in the Premier League sooner than later and maybe after this season.” Birmingham City fan Carl summer said: “His here and his perfect #bcfc.”

Josh BCFC said: “One thing is guaranteed with tom brady and that is he is all about recovery, any player who plays for blues are gonna be getting the best recovery equipment money can buy. #BCFC” Jack Knolwes said: “It’s official Tom Brady is a Bluenose.”

Another ecstatic Blues fan caught Tom Brady on camera as he visited The roost. Em said “I HATE to be a fan girl but Tom Wagner just said it was nice to meet me and Tom Brady is real #bcfc.”

Swaino said: “What a day. Tom Brady pops into the Roost. St Andrew’s looks reborn. King Trevis honoured. Blues win. Villa lose.
