'Absolute minimum' - West Brom, Sunderland and Wolves figure throws down gauntlet to Birmingham City

Don Goodman believes that that Birmingham City should be winning the League One title, based on their squad.
The former West Brom and Wolves striker believes that the squad currently available at the disposal to Chris Davies is at a level higher than League One. He's put the pressure on Blues to succeed, adding that finishing in the top two is the 'absolute minimum' this term.

The latest arrival Emil Hansson cost a reported £1.5m from Dutch side Hercales Almelo, whilst Birmingham have so far been able to retain stars such as Dion Sanderson, Jordan James and Krystian Bielik.
Speaking to OLBG, Goodman said: "You come on to Birmingham and you look at their squad, the players they have brought in and also the ones that they've retained who are better than League One level.
"You have to see them winning League One, you really do. I know they've appointed a new manager in Chris Davies, but finishing in the top two is the absolute minimum for Birmingham City. He's got great tools at his disposal."
Birmingham were relegated on the final day of the Championship season, despite beating Norwich City. In some cases, clubs that have fallen on hard times or have been relegated, use their demotion as an opportunity to reset the club, which can sometimes reinvigorate the place.

Knighthead are clearly here for the long-term with their plans for a new stadium and training ground, and if they can rediscover that winning feeling again, then the club could find themselves on an upward trajectory.
Goodman added: "While it was painful to watch them get relegated, it might just turn out to be the best thing, allowing them to reset with such ambitious ownership.
"The feel-good factor will return with fans getting used to winning games again and if they make an instant return to the Championship there will be investment to try and achieve the ultimate goal of reaching the Premier League.
"If I was a Birmingham City fan, I'd be over the disappointment of relegation and very excited for the campaign ahead.”
