Birmingham City are back in action this weekend, when they take on Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.

The Blues head into the match in fine spirits, having ended their four-game run without a win by beating Luton Town 3-0 last weekend.

Heading into the weekend, Lee Bowyer's side are 18th in the table, and have a serious amount of work to do if they're to make a push for a top-half finish.

Speaking ahead of Saturday afternoon's clash against the Potters, via the club's official website, Bowyer gave injury updates on a number of key players, and revealed: “Scott Hogan will be four weeks, with a calf strain. Marc Roberts and George Friend are looking like they could be back for Bristol City (at the start of March).

“Taylor Richards has still not joined in with the group yet, he is outside with the sports science staff. Troy Deeney has been outside training, but he has done his calf now, so he will be another four weeks.”

Bowyer went on to provide details on loanee Tahith Chong, who returned to the club this month after some time spent back at Man Utd after suffering a ruptured thigh ligament injury in the autumn.

He revealed: “Tahith Chong is good, he has been training out there with the lads. He has another week of training to get through before we can think about giving him minutes to build up his match fitness, but it is nice to see him out there with us.”

The last time Birmingham City played Stoke, back in August, the two sides played out a goalless draw at St Andrew's.

The Blues last won away to the Potters back in 2018, when Che Adams' late goal saw his side snatch a 1-0 victory.
