Birmingham City have announced the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion winger Reda Khadra on a loan deal until the end of the current season. The midfielder, who spent the first half of the campaign at fellow Sky Bet Championship side Sheffield United, has opted to head to Blues to see it out.

Formerly a Borussia Dortmund youth player, Khadra is a tricky winger with an eye for goal. He should add depth to John Eustace’s side on the flanks, at central midfield, and as a shadow striker alongside the likes of Troy Deeney and Scott Hogan.

A statement from Birmingham reads: “Blues are thrilled to confirm the arrival of Reda Khadra, subject to league and FA clearance. The 21-year-old has agreed terms on a loan deal, joining the Club from Brighton to become Eustace’s second capture of the current transfer window.”

Khadra made 16 appearances for the Blades between August and the start of this month, helping the South Yorkshire-based team to second spot in the league standings as he netted one scored. The German spent the 2021/22 term at Blackburn Rovers, playing 27 times and contributing seven direct goal involvements. Khadra becomes Blues’ second signing after Kevin Long.
