Birmingham City consider transfer swoop as £4m stars future 'uncertain' after Bristol City links
Latest Birmingham City transfer news as the future of two players are outlined.
Birmingham City are interested in signing Cardiff City midfielder Andy Rinomhota, according to reports on social media.

Transfer specialist Darren Witcoop has made the claim that Blues are among with several unidentified clubs are considering making a swoop for Rinomhota who looks destined for the exit door at the Cardiff City Stadium. Rinomhota is 'subject of interest' from a 'number of clubs' and is expected to leave this summer with Birmingham exploring a deal as they search for a defensive midfielder.
The 27-year-old has featured in Cardiff's pre-season matches but is low down the pecking order with the abundance of midfield options that they have. He spent half of last season on loan at Birmingham's League One rivals Rotherham United, playing 16 times for the Millers.
Rinomhota has no experience of League One football, having spent a large chunk of his career in the Championship. He came through the academy at Reading, and made 139 appearances for the Royals before moving on in 2022.
He later moved on to Cardiff and has made 48 appearances for the Bluebirds, registering five assists. The three-time Zimbabwe international is under contract at the Cardiff City Stadium until the summer of 2025, and departures from the South Wales club are to be expected after the signings of Calum Chambers and Joe Willock.
To date, he has played 250 games of club football, with 183 of those coming in the Championship, and would be a sound option should Birmingham decide to take their interest further. Cardiff fly to Austria this week, and it will be interesting to see whether he is part of the travelling contingent.
In other news, the future of reported target Scott Twine remains uncertain. Twine has been linked with Birmingham, along with Sunderland as well as a potential return to Bristol City.
According to Sun journalist Alan Nixon, no one has made the right offer to the Clarets for Twine. Interested clubs were waiting for Burnley to sort out their managerial situation, and the Lancashire club have since appointed former Bournemouth and Fulham boss Scott Parker.
Twine was signed by Burnley from MK Dons for a reported £4m, but has struggled to break in to the first-team picture. He has appeared just 28 times for them, and was loaned out to Hull City for the first part of last season, before moving to Bristol City.
In the 35 games that he played for both the Robins and the Tigers, he registered six and assists and three goals. He could get an opportunity under Parker, but if they decide to cut their losses then they will hope to recoup some of their money back with the player under contract for another two years.
