Chris Davies and Phil Parkinson have named their lineups for Birmingham City vs Wrexham in League One.

One of the most highly anticipated fixtures of the new English third tier season is already upon us as Blues host Wrexham at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park tonight.

Hollywood A-listers and footballing royalty - in both the English and American senses - are in attendance, ready to see two of League One’s title favourites take one another on. Rob McElhenney, Tom Brady and Tom Wagner have all been spotted at the ground prior to kick-off, while David Beckham is also expected to spectate.

On the football side, Birmingham are the favourites given their stronger personnel and squad depth but anything can happen with Wrexham in fine form. The Welsh side are currently top of League One following four wins and one draw in their opening five fixtures.

Blues, meanwhile, are sixth having played one or two less than many of their rivals. Last weekend’s clash at Exeter City was postponed as several players were on international duty, so Davies’ side are playing catch up with the schedule. A win tonight would see them into the top two.

Here’s how both teams shape up at St Andrew’s, as Davies opts for Tomoki Iwata ahead of Marc Leonard and manages to fit both Jay Stansfield and Alfie May into the XI.

Blues XI: Peacock-Farrell (GK); Gardner-Hickman, Bielik, Klarer, Cochrane; Paik, Iwata; Willumsson, Hansson, Stansfield; May.
