Birmingham City vs West Brom team news: Davies and Corberan name lineups for final pre-season outing
Chris Davies and Carlos Corberan have named their lineups for today’s pre-season friendly between Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion.
The time has come for the final pre-season test for Birmingham and West Brom with both teams eager to impress ahead of their upcoming campaigns in League One and the Championship respectively.
Blues have been the better of the two sides in their friendlies - at least on paper - as Davies has led his men to four victories in six matches. Two defeats - against Paderborn and Aldershot Town - were disappointing but wins over the likes of Rangers and Shrewsbury Town have built confidence.
Albion, meanwhile, have been victorious in just one of their five matches. Defeats to Bolton Wanderers, Blackpool, Mallorca and Cambridge United - all by one goal - haven’t been ideal. There was a tidy 2-1 win over Peterborough United in there, though.
Results ultimately don’t matter in pre-season, so fans shouldn’t read into them too much. There’s an element of pride being at stake today, however, as this is likely to be the only time Birmingham and West Brom meet one another this term.
