It has been suggested that the Magpies could consider parting ways with their lead marksman for £1.5m. Notts County have already lost manager Luke Williams to Swansea City and he has ruled out signing him this month.

The 26-year-old has got 20 goals and five assists in 27 games in League Two this term. He was prolific for Notts County in the National League and scored 41 goals in 45 games as he helped his side to promotion via the play-offs.

Langstaff was once on the books of Middlesbrough, however he had to drop into the non-league and has had a similar upbringing to Jamie Vardy. His prolific spell with York City, Gateshead and now his current club has made him one of the most in-demand strikers in the EFL.

In other news, Birmingham City striker Scott Hogan is a target for Sheffield Wednesday, according to a report.

Alan Nixon, an EFL journalist for The Sun posted on his personal Twitter page that the Owls are interested in signing Hogan. Wednesday are in the market for a striker and Hogan is someone that could be of interest.

The 31-year-old is out-of-contract at the end of the season - and was given a start by Tony Mowbray in his first game in charge. Hogan got an assist in the 2-2 draw with Swansea City and got an assist for Siriki Dembele’s equaliser.

Hogan isn’t the only striker Wednesday are tracking as according to our friends at The Star, Hungary international Daniel Gazdag is of interest. Wednesday have already signed Ike Ugbo from Troyes on loan having spent the first part of the season at Cardiff City.
