Aston Villa make their UEFA Champions League debut when they face Swiss Super League outfit Young Boys - several of their players might miss out however.

Aston Villa face Young Boys at the Wankdorf Stadium in their first match of the their 2024/25 UEFA Champions League campaign.

A brace from Ollie Watkins, and a spectacular strike from Jhon Duran secured the win against the Toffees at Villa Park. As for Young Boys, they were in Swiss Cup second round action and defeated Vevey-Sports 4-2.

Alan Virginius, Cedric Itten, Darian Males, and Meschak Elia scored as they booked their place in the next round. Young Boys currently find themselves bottom of the Swiss Super League with no wins in their opening six matches. They had to beat Galatasaray in the play-off round to reach the league phase of the competition.

The playing surface at the Wankdorf Stadium is artifical, and so Aston Villa players will have to get used to playing on playing on something different to grass. Here’s the latest injury and team news ahead of kick-off.
