Who are Aston Villa’s current longest serving players ahead of 2022/23 Premier League season?

There has been plenty of chopping and changing within the Villa squad in recent years with just a handful hitting the 1,000 days mark.

Ever wondered who Aston Villa’s current longest serving players are? No? Ok, but we’re here to tell you anyway.

Since Jack Grealish departed his boyhood club to join Premier League champions Manchester City, it’s hard to point to many players within the squad that have been there for longer than even a season or two.

With the ambitions that the owners and management have at Villa Park, it’s no surprise to see a big turnover in playing staff when season’s are finishing well below par.

And the statistics back that up.

As per the analytic website, transfermarkt.co.uk, as of the end of last season, no team in the Premier League had a lower ‘average time spent at club’ than Villa.

To put that into perspective, the average length of time an outfield Villa player had been part of the squad was 556 days compared with Manchester United, whose ‘average time at club’ was pushing 1,600 days.

And with Gerrard already adding a number of first teamers this summer, Villa’s number could decrease even further.

But who are the longest serving players at the club? BirminghamWorld have taken a look so you don’t have to.

You can see the full list below (excluding those due to sign on July 1) starting from least amount of days, to most.
