Only one remains in the Premier League whilst the majority have moved further down the footballing pyramid in a bid to revitalise, or in some instances, likely finish up their respective careers.
A whole host of youngsters remain unattached too having failed to be snapped up by anyone to date following their release.
And whilst it’s still early days, it looks like Steven Gerrard has got his outgoing business pretty spot on.

1. Dominic Revan
Spent part of 21/22 on loan with League Two side Northampton Town but remains unattached following his release from Villa.
2. Matt Targett
Left to join Premier League rivals Newcastle United for a fee just over £15m.
3. Akos Onodi
The Hungarian shot-stopper remains a free agent following his release. Photo: HANNAH MCKAY
4. Paul Appiah
Appiah lifted the FA Youth Cup with Villa back in May 2021 but failed to build on that season, being released this summer. The centre-back remains unattached.
