Ever wondered what Aston Villa’s squad will look like by the start of the 2023/24 campaign?
In all seriousness you probably have. It’s an exciting time to be involved with the claret & blue and with future ambitions of Europe and no concerns over amount of funds it will take to get there, it could be a very fun next few transfer windows ahead.
For us, we couldn’t wait around until summer though. That and we’re really scraping the barrel with content here thanks to that pesky international break but we’ve had a lot of fun in doing this, so it’s swings and roundabouts.
What we’ve done is head to FIFA and simmed through the seasons to see what it has Villa’s team looking like following the closure of the 2023 summer window.
Big deals appear to have been made both in and out with names such as Danny Ings, Matty Cash and Jacob Ramsey no longer involved with the side.
Due to the depth in some areas, formation looks to have shifted to a 5-3-2 but with more than enough quality to switch that up if needed.
On the whole, it looks quite realistic and some of the moves we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing come to fruition in real life.
Here’s the starting eleven and bench in full according to FIFA 22...

1. GK - Emiliano Martinez
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The Argentine remains the number one.

2. RWB - Kaine Kesler Hayden
The young full-back has been impressing on loan at both Swindon Town and MK Dons so far this campaign - he’s the starting wing-back in 2023.

3. CB - Jules Kounde
