Aston Villa will reportedly have to fork out £30million if they are to lure Nicolas Jackson to the Premier League this winter. The Midlands outfit are keen to snap up the attacker from Villarreal in the upcoming January transfer window.

According to a report by Football Insider, the La Liga side will only ‘consider’ letting him leave if his release clause is met but Villa want to agree a deal worth less than that. The 21-year-old has caught the eye playing in Spain and is being tipped for a bright future in the game.

Jackson is a player who Unai Emery knows well from managing at the Estadi Ciutat de València and he could see him as a decent long-term option at Villa Park. He is under contract in Spain until the summer of 2026 meaning his current club are under no pressure to sell him next month.

He has made 23 appearances in all competitions so far this season and has chipped in with two goals and three assists. The youngster started his career at Casa Sports in his native Senegal before Villarreal snapped him up back in 2020 and he has since broken into their first-team after impressing in their B team.

Aston Villa have a big window to plan for now as Emery looks to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad. Jackson’s price tag is apparently set and they have a decision to make about whether to proceed with a move for him now.
