Unai Emery claims he’s unsure what’s going on with Jacob Ramsey after the midfielder missed a third successive Aston Villa fixture.

The Villans’ head coach refused to give any update on Ramsey, who has been missing since going off in the 29th minute away at Luton Town on March 2. The likes of Youri Tielemans, Morgan Rogers, Jhon Duran and Nicolo Zaniolo have stepped in during Ramsey’s absence.

Asked for information on Villa’s number 41 following the 1-1 draw away at West Ham United on Sunday, Emery was reluctant to give anything away. “I don’t know, I don’t know,” the Spaniard told Birmingham World before quickly moving on to another topic.

It was a little peculiar that Emery wasn’t able to notify of any developments as less than a week ago he spoke pretty confidently about Villa monitoring Ramsey’s progress. “He’s still not available, but hopefully not for a long time. We are going to wait every day to see how he is feeling,” Emery said on March 13.

Villa will be fine without Ramsey for the foreseeable future as there’s depth in that particular position but that won’t stop concern from supporters over his condition. Any more on Ramsey is unlikely to emerge until after the international break.
