Aston Villa manager Unai Emery spoke to the media after the defeat to Legia Warsaw in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Unai Emery has made his best effort to reassure supporters after Aston Villa suffered a humbling 3-2 loss to Legia Warsaw on Thursday evening.

Villa’s first European group stage night for well over a decade was a disappointing one for all who travelled, as well as those watching on television.

It was of course still a momentous occasion but all the anticipation beforehand was for a positive ending and that didn’t come as Legia were clinical.

Despite the result, Emery remains level-headed and hopes fans can move away from the upset as quickly as possible with many more outings to come.

“Today, everything which happened in the match I have lived before,” the four-time UEFA Europa League winner told Birmingham Live, reassuringly.

“We still have the possibility to react again as we play another five matches. It’s not a good result, but we’ve still got five matches,” Emery continued.

The men in claret and blue are next back in Europa Conference League action on Thursday, October 5 as they take on HŠK Zrinjski Mostar at Villa Park.
