Unai Emery has dedicated a large section of his pre-Aston Villa vs Liverpool programme notes to Jürgen Klopp.

The Villa boss has utmost respect for the outgoing Reds manager and wishes the German all the best for the future. Emery will of course be hoping he can get the best of his opposite number under the lights at Villa Park but that didn’t stop him from writing a 104-word message.

As presented in his pre-match notes, Emery said: “It will be a pleasure to once again compete against Jürgen. For sure, he is one of the best managers that the Premier League has ever seen, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the best in his next career move once he steps away from Liverpool at the end of the season.

“As a man, he has been always respectful and honest. With his way, his Liverpool have been consistent in competing not only for the Premier League - which is very, very difficult - but also far all the competitions that they enter. This is a fantastic achievement.”

It’s unlikely to be the final time Emery faces Klopp on the touchline but Villa’s last home clash of the season will be the Liverpool head coach’s farewell to Premier League away days. This should be a cracker.
