Aston Villa picked up a fresh injury concern while the chaos unfolded against Brentford on Sunday.

Unai Emery has confirmed Pau Torres picked up an injury towards the end of Aston Villa's chaotic 2-1 victory at Brentford on Sunday afternoon. Pau hobbled off with about 10 minutes to go and looked in pain as he sat down on the bench. Emery is hopeful it's nothing serious.

Boubacar Kamara had to fill in as an auxiliary centre-back at the end as Villa did their best to hang on under tense conditions. Referee David Coote brandished a remarkable total of yellow cards and two reds as he attempted to control what turned into a mightily tense affair.

Many wouldn't have even noticed Pau was injured as much of the attention was on the brawls regularly breaking out on the field. There was indeed an issue for the central defender, though, and Emery has confirmed this – albeit with some slight hope.

"Hopefully it's a small injury. Hopefully," Emery said in the post-match press conference with a little anxiety in his voice. "The big problem today is the red card of Kamara," Emery continued.

Although it was tough to decipher the extent of Pau's injury, the fact Emery was more concerned about Kamara's upcoming suspension is promising. Pau could of course still face a spell out if further tests reveal anything new, but it's a decent prognosis as of now.
