The Premier League has announced the nominees for the Player of the Month award for March, with Aston Villa centre back Tyrone Mings among those listed. The prestigious trophy, which is handed out at the end of every calendar month during the season, was last won by a Villa player back in April 2015.

Christian Benteke landed the accolade after scoring five goals in four games to boost The Lions’ survival hopes at the tail end of the 2014/15 Premier League season. The Belgian was the division’s top scorer that month with a hat-trick against Queens Park Rangers certainly helping his case.
