Aston Villa talent Liverpool previously lodged bid for now 'allowed to leave'

Aston Villa will reportedly consider the sale of Jhon Duran this January as a result of alleged friction between the striker and head coach Unai Emery. The Colombian, who joined from Chicago Fire at the start of 2023, was the subject of a bid from Liverpool last winter.
The Telegraph reports interest is growing in Duran, whom Villa would let go either on a permanent or temporary basis due to the tension between player and manager. It awaits to be seen if Liverpool would rear their head again following previous long-standing intrigue but a move could well come to fruition if they did.

Hide AdDuran, who has played 33 times since signing for the Villans in a £15 million deal, only has four goals to his name. Many of those appearances have been off the bench, too, as the 20-year-old has failed to work his way into the starting XI often under Emery.
The Telegraph adds Villa want to sign a new forward and a right-back, to provide competition for Matty Cash and support for Ollie Watkins. RB Leipzig attacker Yannick Eduardo has been touted as a potential option, while Nico Williams, another Liverpool wanted, is no longer available after signing a new contract with Athletic Bilbao.
