Leeds United have reportedly received their first formal approach for midfielder Tyler Adams amid interest from a whole host of teams in the Premier League.

The Whites are set to lose a number of key players in the coming months after their relegation to the Championship, and USA international Adams is one of the likeliest to go.

Signed from RB Leipzig last summer, the 24-year-old had plenty of promise as Leeds looked to progress in the Premier League, but things didn’t quite work out for either party.

Adams, who was one of the very few shining lights in an under-par Leeds side last campaign, made 24 appearances in the English top tier – as well as two in the FA Cup.

It’s been reported that Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are keen but another team has made the first move.

The Daily Mail claims West Ham United have “made an approach” to Leeds for Adams as a replacement for star midfielder Declan Rice, who is set for a £105 million Arsenal switch.

The Hammers have also made initial contacts for Juventus ace Denis Zakaria and Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse as they weigh up their options, it’s claimed.

Adams, who can play anywhere in midfield and even at either full-back position, cost Leeds £20 million last July. The player is said to have a £30 million relegation release clause.
