The latest transfer news on Deadline Day as an update emerges for Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene and his move to Hull City after Ipswich Town interest.

Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene is expected to be announced as a new Hull City player by the end of Deadline Day, according to multiple reports.

Despite impressing Unai Emery in pre-season, the versatile forward is unlikely to gain satisfactory game time at Villa Park and is therefore keen on a move to the Championship.

Ipswich Town were heavily linked with Philogene’s services and Cardiff City, where the winger spent last campaign on loan, were also said to be keen on making a move.

Liam Rosenior’s side are closing in on Philogene, though, as the Tigers are confident the deal will be finalised before the close of play on Friday, September 1.

HullLive reports a four-year contract has already been agreed after the player completed medical tests. The Athletic, meanwhile, claims the deal is worth around £5 million.

Emery wanted to keep Philogene but the player wanted to go. Villa have a buy-back clause available to them and they will have first refusal if Hull are to sell the winger in the future.
