Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix has received a new, formal approach over a potential summer transfer, according to a reputable report.

The Portugal international, who has been heavily linked with the likes of Aston Villa, Manchester United and Arsenal over recent months, now has a huge decision to make.

The forward, who cost Atletico an astonishing £108 million from Benfica in 2019, has failed to play more than 1,750 minutes in any campaign throughout his career to date.

Felix spent the second half of last season on loan in the Premier League with Chelsea but scored just four goals in 16 English top-tier appearances. He also failed to net in the Champions League.

Nonetheless, it’s clear to see there’s immense – and maybe world-class – talent in there. There’s a long list of clubs hoping they can provide Felix the correct platform to unleash that potential.

Transfer news journalist Fabrizio Romano provided Villa, Arsenal, Man Utd and the other teams interested with a significant update on Sunday night.

He claimed Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal have made an official approach to Felix, offering the player either a permanent move or a season-long loan.

Mouthwatering wages are expected to be offered to convince the attacker, who is said to be keen on staying in Europe. His priority, it’s stated, is a dream move to Barcelona.

If Felix does go to Saudi instead, he wouldn’t be the first Al-Hilal have lured. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves, Malcom and Kalidou Koulibaly have all taken the plunge over the last few months.
